What is a Visual Library?

A Visual Library is a mental collection of all the images you know how to draw and use on a regular basis. Visual libraries contain many literal things like objects and people, etc. but also may contain more complicated images like visual metaphors.

What you'll learn:

Everyone has a Visual Library in their mind, but you may need some help to discover, document, grow, and organize it. This mini-course will help you:

Discover and document what is already in your Visual Library

Grow the amount of images in your Visual Library

Organize your Visual Library

Who is this course for?

This course is best if you have basic drawing experience. (If you don't have drawing experience, it is recommended you take the free drawing for beginners course first.)

This course was made for people who want to communicate visually or already are, such as:

  • Visual Notetakers / Sketchnoters
  • Graphic Recorders
  • Visual Facilitators
  • Bullet Journalers
  • Drawers and "Doodlers"

If you've ever thought anything like the quotes below, this course is for you:

  • "I feel like I'm always drawing the same things over and over."
  • "I can't think of different things to draw."
  • "I feel like my drawing variety has plateaued."

Why should you take this mini-course?

Mastering and maintaining your Visual Library is helpful because you’ll never know when you need to draw something out of the blue! Whether you're a professional visual communicator or just need to communicate your ideas in meetings, being familiar with how to draw something helps you reduce distraction and save time.

Note: You will get the most value from this mini-course if you have basic drawing skills. You don't need to be Michelangelo, but being able to draw basic objects will be helpful.
